Shopify Integration 2.0

From 1st January 2026, Shopify no longer supports access token and have introduced Client ID and Client Secret for custom apps. The users now have to use these parameters and create the access token using OAuth.

Step 1: Creating Shopify Custom App

Go to the URL below and login using your shopify dev logins (or create one if asked)

https://dev.shopify.com/dashboard/

Once logged in, create a new app

Enter the name of your app

Scroll down till you see the access scopes tab, and paste the following scopes inside.

read_orders,read_draft_orders,write_draft_orders,read_customers,read_checkouts,read_products,read_discounts,write_discounts,read_price_rules,write_price_rules

Scroll down and copy over the redirect URL from inside the miniapp in the input field, make sure you unselect “Legacy Install”

Under the redirect url section, copy over the following URL:

Redirect Url: NewAge Ai.com.au

Scroll down and click on “Release” button, you can name the initial version as anything

Once done, click on Settings tab from the top left

Copy over the Client ID and secret in the Integration section inside the platform input fields as shown below

Scroll down and click “Manage” under the Storefront API

Once here, click on Distribution tab

Select Custom Distribution

Once done, go back to API Access Requests and enable the Storefront API

Now go back to platform, and click on “Save”

Once clicked, a new button called “Verify” will appear that will let you install the app.

The “Verify” button will only appear in the initial installation. If the app is already installed, it wont appear and the connection will be established without it.

A window should popup that will allow you to install the app and once done, you should have a verified status

The integration is complete
