An answer is only as good as the system behind it.
An agent that cannot read your order status is a nicer FAQ. These connections let it check, book and write in the systems you already run — and anything without a ready connector goes through the External Request node.
- Read and write
- Used inside any flow
- Any API through one node

Connect once, use in every flow.
The External Request node covers the rest.
What it isWhat it means for your setup
Any HTTP APIGET or POST to your endpoint with headers and typed arguments taken from the conversation.
Saved into variablesThe response is parsed and stored so later nodes and the agent’s reply can use specific values.
Error pathA timeout or a 500 does not become a wrong answer. Retry once, then say so honestly and hand over.
Local systemsERPs and internal systems common in the region usually need a small endpoint in front of them — a developer day, not a project.
Rate limits, scopes and available fields are set by each provider and change with their API versions. Check the provider’s current documentation when you design a flow around a specific field.
Connect the one system your answers depend on.
For most stores that is the order system. Once the agent can read an order, half the night’s messages answer themselves.
